About DRPredTB

Early diagnosis of TB drug resistance phenotypes remains a challenge because of the time taken by culture dependent methods. The rising rates of antibiotic-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis poses a great threat towards the global effort of TB eradication. Till date there are WHO recommended molecular tests available that helps in rapid detection of drug resistance phenotypes, but they limited to screening of a small number loci already established from prior studies.

DRPredTB is an open-source web and command line application to analyze WGS dataset with prediction of drug resistance phenotype for 8 drugs. Along with the prediction-based phenotypes we also report the presence of WHO TB Catalogue mutation signatures and the fraction of reads supporting the variant. The tool also reports quality parameters like genome coverage, percent of reads classified as Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC).
